Our Mission Statement

Our mission at Equine Veterinary Services is to provide top quality lameness, reproductive and illness care coupled with superior wellness programs for horses in an effort to allow each individual horse to accomplish the competitive goals of their owners and the recreational value we all seek to have a happy, healthy and successful life.


About Us

Equine Veterinary Services (EVS) is a full-service veterinary clinic and breeding facility located in Terrell. Founded as an ambulatory practice in January of 1992 by Dr. Kenton H. Arnold, EVS was originally based in Sunnyvale, Equine Veterinary Services relocated a year later to its current location, a 38-acre picturesque facility located at I-20 and FM 2578 in Terrell, TX.

The entire EVS staff is dedicated to providing high quality, comprehensive medical care for horses in Dallas, Kaufman, Rockwall and Van Zandt Counties. The equine veterinary clinic focuses on performance horse lameness and reproductive issues as well as wellness programs for all breeds.

Kenton H. Arnold, DVM

Dr. Arnold holds degrees from Southwest Texas State University and Texas A&M University as well as a doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. An active member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, he writes for equestrian publications on issues related to the health and well-being of performance and breeding horses. Dr. Arnold has served as a regular columnist for multiple equine publications and was a Founding Board Member for the Texas Horse Park.

Dr. Arnold is an avid cutting horse enthusiast, competing on a regular basis in NCHA, and AQHA competitions. He has been a top ten finisher multiple times in both cutting and pole bending competition at the prestigious AQHA World Show.

Prior to establishing his own private practice, Dr. Arnold was an associate veterinarian with Equiplex Veterinary Hospital in Flower Mound, where he worked with Dr. Bobby Willard.

Dr. Arnold is a founding associate of Animal Imaging, an outpatient imaging facility which provides state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services to veterinarians, located in Irving. Dr. Arnold currently serves on the membership committee of the Texas Equine Veterinary Association, where he is also involved with the organization's Equitarian Outreach Project in Guatemala.


Dr. Jennifer Wickline

Jennifer Wickline, DVM

Dr. Jennifer Wickline first joined Equine Veterinary Services as an Associate Veterinarian in June of 2012 after completing a professional internship with Reata Equine Hospital in Weatherford, Texas. She left the practice in December of 2014 and returned to Weatherford working with Dr. Leea Arnold at The Arnold Reproduction Center. In December of 2016 Dr. Wickline returned to Equine Veterinary Services. She has a life-time of equine experience as a competitor and owner, and prides herself on being a top equine veterinarian.

Dr. Wickline is a 2007 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University in Biomedical Science. She graduated from the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 with honors. Dr. Wickline was honored with numerous awards during her academic years including the prestigious Mattie & Ben T. Little Memorial Scholarship, William F. Egan Memorial Scholarship, and the Stevenson Center Memorial Scholarship.

Dr. Wickline first became interested in veterinary medicine during a co-op class her senior year in high school with Dr. Arnold at Equine Veterinary Services.  It was during this time that her interest in breeding, equine medicine and lameness first became evident. Today she utilizes her vast knowledge of horses to practice high-quality medicine with a special flair toward emergency medicine.

Dr. Wickline is married to Steven Collins and the couple lives in Wills Point, Texas. They enjoy traveling the world together.

Dr. Lindsey Zanca

Lindsey Zanca, DVM

Dr. Lindsey Zanca joined Equine Veterinary Services as an Associate Veterinarian in October of 2018. Dr. Zanca is originally from Louisiana where she completed a Bachelor of Animal Science degree at Louisiana Tech University. She is a 2018 graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Zanca completed her clinical veterinary program at Oklahoma State University as well as externships at Equine Sports Medicine & Surgery and Outlaw Equine. She has special interest in sports medicine and reproductive cases. Dr. Zanca loves being on the EVS Team where she finds a high-standard of equine care to be the norm coupled with ethical based medicine.

Dr. Zanca has extensive experience with horses as a life-time owner and competitor, and is a die-hard horse and dog lover. In her spare time, Dr. Zanca is a competitive barrel racer, and enjoys painting and Two Steppin.

Carrie Benson

Carrie Benson, Office Coordinator

Carrie Benson joined EVS in October of 2018 as Office Coordinator. Originally from South Carolina, Carrie brings decades of client relations, office oversight and administrative experience to her position. Her love of horses started as a young girl while spending time with her grandfather. Carrie has been hooked on horses ever since. Her competitive equine background began with endurance trail rides in her youth and a stint in the ranch sorting arena as an adult. A natural in the veterinary office, Carrie understands equine owners and is a natural in our fast paced clinic.

Carrie and her husband Kevin live in Combine with their much-loved horses and dogs. In her spare time she enjoys cooking and baking, and spending time with friends and family.

Maddie Frizzell, Veterinary Tech

Maddie Frizzell, Veterinary Tech

Maddie Frizzell joined EVS is the summer of 2016 as an intern, and now works with the clinic as a seasonal Veterinary Technician. She is an honors graduate of Rockwall High School and Oklahoma State University. Maddie grew up showing Arabians and half-Arabians, and says that is where her interest in veterinary medicine was born. She is currently attending OSU School of Veterinary Medicine.

Carly Gajdos joined EVS in August of 2017 as a Vet Tech. She brought a long list of equine experience with her to the position including training from Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre. Originally from Indiana, Carly has been involved with horses as a trainer, massage therapist, and barn manager for years. She loves horses and horse people, which is obvious in her daily work at EVS.

Maria Granello, Veterinary Tech

Maria Granello, Veterinary Tech

Maria Granello began working at EVS in the summer of 2013 as a volunteer clinic intern. Today she offers superior horse handling and vet tech skills as part of her seasonal work in the practice. Maria has spent her life on horseback where she shows in eventing and dressage competitions. She is a graduate of the Episcopal School of Dallas. She is also an honors graduate of Sewanee: the University of the South where she received a degree in Biology, and a minor in Chemistry. Maria is currently attending the Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Anna Vincent, Veterinary Tech

Anna Vincent, Veterinary Tech

Anna Vincent joined EVS in 2016 as a veterinary technician bringing years of equine experience to her role. She is a 2012 graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Animal Science and is a certified Equine Sports Massage therapist. Anna owns quarter horses and a Palomino Belgian cross which she enjoys riding for pleasure with her family. Anna loves the sense of family among the people in the equine community and is excited to work every day with fellow equestrians.

Jim Arnold

Jim Arnold, Facility Coordinator

Jim Arnold has been a major contributor to EVS since 1992. Jim oversees purchasing feed and maintenance products for the clinic. He holds both a bachelor degree and masters degree from Sul Ross University. He is respected equine photographer specializing in cutting horse action, stallions and auction photography. Jim is webmaster for multiple organizations and businesses including Equine Veterinary Services. Jim and his wife Teri live in Rowlett, Texas.

Daniel Talavera

Daniel Talavera, Maintenance Coordinator

Daniel Talavera was with the famous Star Brand Ranch in Kaufman, Texas for 14 years before joining EVS in July of 2017. Daniel oversees maintenance projects at the clinic including mowing, painting, grooming and repairing the facility. He works hard to keep the equine clinic in top form. Daniel and his beautiful wife have three daughters, and a grandson.

Lindsey Miller

Lindsey Miller, Sr. Ranch/Vet Assistant

Lindsey Miller is a graduate of Scurry-Rosser High School and currently attends Trinity Valley Community College. A horse enthusiast her entire life, Lindsey joined EVS in the summer of 2016. She rode her first horse at four, received her first pony at six and has competed in speed events ever since. A self-declared animal lover, Lindsey cares for her chickens and a multitude of animals in her spare time. She plans to make animal care her life career within the veterinary and wildlife rehabilitation industries.

Jailinne Venzor, Ranch/Vet Assistant

Jailinne Venzor joined EVS in the summer of 2018 as a volunteer clinic intern. She is a graduate of Grady Spruce High School and a recipient of the prestigious AQHA Racing Scholarship. She currently attends Cedar Valley Community College. Jailinne spends her spare time assisting her family in their race horse training business and runs her own on-line clothing company. Her love of horses is obvious in her work at EVS.

Austria Arnold, Communications Coordinator

A life-long equine competitor, Austria Arnold is the EVS Communications Coordinator. A graduate of The Hockaday School in Dallas, Austria is a presidential scholar at Baylor University where she studies Journalism, French and Entrepreneurship. She has won multiple titles in the cutting pen including the 2014 National Youth Cutting Horse Association World Championship. In 2016 Austria was named to Team USA for the AQHA Youth World Cup in Tamworth, Australia, where she won both competitions and was crowned the 2016 Youth World Cup Cutting Champion. Over the years, Austria has won multiple AQHA awards, including youth high-point cutter in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017. Austria plans to eventually practice law, while continuing her cutting horse obsession.

Carroll Brown Arnold

Carroll Brown Arnold, HR/Marketing Director

Carroll Brown Arnold has been involved with EVS since its inception and is married to clinic founder Dr. Kenton H. Arnold. An award winning writer, Carroll has been published in multiple travel and equine publications, and is the former publisher of America’s Cutter and America’s Barrel Racer magazines. She currently writes for Examiner.com. Carroll is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and has completed graduate work at the University of North Texas. She works with organizations in the non-profit and equine industries, while overseeing the IT, marketing, social media and branding efforts for the equine clinic. Carroll received her first horse as a 16th birthday gift from her parents and went on to fill the next thirty years competing in barrel racing, pole bending and cutting horse competitions. Today she enjoys cutting events with her husband and daughter Austria.
