Our mission at Equine Veterinary Services is to provide top quality lameness, reproductive and illness care coupled with superior wellness programs for horses in an effort to allow each individual horse to accomplish the competitive goals of their owners and the recreational value we all seek to have a happy, healthy and successful life.
About Us
Equine Veterinary Services (EVS) is a full-service veterinary clinic and breeding facility located in Terrell. Founded as an ambulatory practice in January of 1992 by Dr. Kenton H. Arnold, EVS was originally based in Sunnyvale, Equine Veterinary Services relocated a year later to its current location, a 38-acre picturesque facility located at I-20 and FM 2578 in Terrell, TX.
The entire EVS staff is dedicated to providing high quality, comprehensive
medical care for horses in Dallas, Kaufman, Rockwall and Van Zandt Counties.
The equine veterinary clinic focuses on performance horse lameness and reproductive
issues
as well as wellness programs for all breeds.
Doctors

Dr. Arnold holds degrees from Southwest Texas State University and Texas A&M University as well as a doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University.
An active member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, he writes for equestrian publications on issues related to the health and well-being of performance and breeding horses. Dr. Arnold has served as a regular columnist for multiple equine publications and was a Founding Board Member for the Texas Horse Park.
Dr. Arnold is an avid cutting horse enthusiast, competing on a regular basis
in NCHA, and AQHA competitions. He has been a top ten finisher multiple times
in both cutting and pole bending competition at the prestigious AQHA World
Show.
Prior to establishing his own private practice, Dr. Arnold was an associate veterinarian with Equiplex Veterinary Hospital in Flower Mound, where he worked with Dr. Bobby Willard.
Dr. Arnold is a founding associate of Animal Imaging, an outpatient imaging facility which provides state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services to veterinarians, located in Irving. Dr. Arnold currently serves on the membership committee of the Texas Equine Veterinary Association, where he is also involved with the organization's Equitarian Outreach Project in Guatemala.

Dr. Mary-Birdsong Gabriel is an honors graduate of OSU with degrees in both biochemistry and molecular biology. She is also a graduate of Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Gabriel was born and raised in Tyler, Texas where she attended Grace Community School. Dr. Gabriel has experience showing hunter jumpers, which makes her a great fit for the EVS Team. She was the EVS 2023-2024 part-time DVM Intern.

Dr. Jennifer Wickline first joined Equine Veterinary Services as an Associate Veterinarian in June of 2012 after completing a professional internship with Reata Equine Hospital in Weatherford, TX. She left EVS in December of 2014 and returned to Weatherford working with Dr. Leea Arnold at The Arnold Reproduction Center. In December of 2016, Dr. Wickline returned to EVS as a full-time veterinarian. Today she works as a part-time Associate at the Terrell equine clinic. She has a life-time of equine experience as a competitor and owner, and prides herself on being a top equine veterinarian.
Dr. Wickline is a 2007 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University in Biomedical Science. She graduated from the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 with honors. She first became interested in veterinary medicine during a co&45;op class her senior year in high school with Dr. Arnold at Equine Veterinary Services. It was during this time that her interest in breeding, equine medicine and lameness first became evident. Today she utilizes her vast knowledge of horses to practice high-quality medicine with a special flair toward breeding.
Dr. Wickline, her husband Steven Collins and their son Noah live in Wills Point, TX. They enjoy traveling the world together.

Carroll Brown Arnold Practice Manager/HR Director
Carroll Brown Arnold has been involved with EVS since its inception and is married to clinic founder Dr. Kenton H. Arnold. An award winning writer, Carroll has been published in multiple travel and equine publications, and is the former publisher of America's Cutter and America's Barrel Racer magazines. Carroll is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and has completed graduate work at the University of North Texas. She works with organizations in the non-profit and equine industries, while overseeing the IT, marketing, social media and branding efforts for the equine clinic. Carroll received her first horse as a 16th birthday gift from her parents and went on to fill the next forty years competing in barrel racing, pole bending and cutting horse competitions. Today she enjoys cutting events with her husband and daughter Austria. |

Lauren Rogers Sr. Clinical Operations Assistant
EVS Sr. Clinical Operations Assistant Lauren Rogers knows her way around the clinic. Lauren joined EVS in 2022 as a Ranch Assistant where her attention to detail become obvious quickly. She was promoted to her current position in 2023. Lauren is a graduate of Terrell High School where she was president of FFA. Lauren is currently attending Texas A&M University - Commerce. She is passionate about agriculture and equine rehabilitation. This busy lady loves showing zebu cattle and participating in livestock judging when time allows. |

Regina Calverley Office Coordinator
EVS Front Office Coordinator Regina Calverley oversees the daily functions of the clinic office. Regina joined the clinic in June of 2021 as an Administrative Specialist and was quickly promoted to Team Leader and then Front Office Coordinator. She is the lead trouble shooter with accounts receivables and administrative procedures here at EVS. Her organizational and mentorship skills make her a major asset to the EVS Team. Regina's extensive customer service experience from the printing and estate sales industries are evident in her work. Her equine experience is limited to being a fan of rodeo and watching her grandchildren compete in equestrian events - yet she loves the friendly folks in the industry. |

Austria Arnold Sr. Communications Coordinator
A life-long competitor, Austria Arnold, Esq. is the EVS Sr. Communications Coordinator. Austria is a graduate of The Hockaday School, a 2019 magna cum laude graduate of Baylor University, and a 2023 graduate of the Vanderbilt Law School. Austria was admitted into the Texas State Bar in 2023. She has won multiple titles in the cutting pen including the 2014 National Youth Cutting Horse Association World Championship, 2020 NCHA Summer Spectacular Amateur Championship and was the 2021 NCHA Classic/Challenge Amateur Champion. In 2020, Austria and her gelding Cat About Houston won the NCHA Amateur Horse of the Year title. In 2016 Austria was named to Team USA for the AQHA Youth World Cup in Tamworth, Australia - where she won both competitions and was crowned the 2016 Youth World Cup Cutting Champion. Over the years Austria has been honored with multiple AQHA awards - including youth high point cutter in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017. She has been an aged-event finalist more than 25-times on numerous cutting horses. Today Austria continues her cutting horse obsession while working at EVS and the prestigious Haynes and Boone law firm in Dallas. Austria is married to Louis Gerhardy IV. |

Cashlin Dwyer Vet Assistant
Cashlin Dwyer is a junior at OSU studying pre-veterinary medicine with a minor in business. She is originally from Florida but claims Texas as home now. Cashlin has extensive experience with bovine reproduction. She completed a Level I Internship here at EVS and joined the EVS Team as a Seasonal Vet Assistant later that summer. Cashlin has plans to attend vet school upon graduation from OSU. She spends her free time with her family and enjoys being outdoors with her camera whenever possible. |

Karis Finch Breeding Coordinator
EVS Breeding Coordinator Karis Finch grew up in Sunnyvale, Texas showing cattle and goats. She is a graduate of Tarleton State University where she received her BS in Animal Science in 2023. Karis is currently pursuing a Masters of Science at Tarleton in the Agricultural Resources and Communications program. Certified in artificial insemination, Karis has a passion for equine reproduction. When time allows - she enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking and long walks with her dog. |

Jessica Newcomb Futrell Vet Assistant
Jessica Newcomb Futrell is a graduate of Tarleton State University with a degree in Biomedical Science. She worked in the veterinary industry as a Receptionist and Technician prior to joining EVS in 2024. Jessica grew up with horses and cattle while showing sheep. She hopes to attend vet school in the near future. Jessica is married to Nathan Futrell and the couple lives in Canton, Texas. |

Isabel Gregory Sr. Vet Tech
Isabel Gregory, a Dallas native and graduate of Southern Methodist University, completed both the EVS Level I and Level II Internships prior to being hired as a Vet Assistant in 2020. A natural with horses, Isabel was promoted to Vet Tech in 2021, and Sr. Vet Tech in 2022. Isabel served as the clinic's Head Vet Tech for more than a year before leaving to attend the prestigious University College of Dublin Veterinary School in Ireland. Isabel currently works seasonally at EVS on holidays and school breaks. She is a true horsewoman with a strong equine background as both a competitor and owner. Isabel is married to Corey Gendron. |

Sofia Gill Vet Assistant
EVS Veterinary Assistant Sofia Gill is a pre-vet student at Texas Tech University where she is majoring in Animal Science. She is involved with the Texas Tech Polo Club and is an Undergraduate Research Assistant for a dairy cattle nutrition study. An honors graduate of Garland High School, Sofia was named a National Merit Finalist in 2022. She completed the EVS Level 1 Internship in 2023 and the EVS Level II Internship in May of 2024. Sofia has worked in both the small animal and exotic veterinary fields prior to joining the EVS Team in June of 2024. |

Yeymi Haro Sr. Vet Assistant-Team Leader
Sr. Vet Assistant Yeymi Haro is a natural with horses. She loves to spend time with her family which includes riding horses, traveling and involvement in church activities. Yeymi is a graduate of Terrell High School and currently attends Trinity Valley Community College. She joined the EVS Team as a Ranch Assistant in 2022. Yeymi plans to eventually study Veterinary Medicine. |

Cheyenne Kinder Vet Assistant
Vet Assistant Cheyenne Kinder was a former EVS Intern. The Kaufman, Texas cowgirl attends Tarleton University as an Animal Science as a pre-vet student where she is a senior. She loves barrel racing, country dancing and tubing at the lake. Cheyenne's career plans involve horses as she plans to become an equine veterinarian or a horse trainer in the near future. |

Tori Mallory Vet Assistant
Tori Mallory joined EVS back in 2019 as a Ranch Assistant. Today she works as a part-time Vet Assistant here at the clinic. When not working at EVS this busy lady works for CareFlite as a Paramedic in their ground division. Tori has solid equine experience and loves working with horses and their owners. |

Billy Louton Vet Assistant
EVS Vet Assistant Billy Louton calls Forney, Texas his hometown. He successfully completed the EVS Level I and Level II Internship Program prior to joining the Team in 2024. Billy currently attends Southern Methodist University in Dallas where he is a junior with a Biological Science major. Billy is smart and driven, and he plans to be an equine vet in the future. |

Ben Roberson Vet Assistant
Rowlett, Texas is home to EVS Vet Assistant Ben Roberson. He does, however, spend lots of time in Stillwater, Oklahoma at Oklahoma State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Ben holds a 2024 undergraduate degree from OSU as well. He loves animals and plans on a career in a mixed-animal practice in the future. When not studying or working at EVS, Ben likes to play basketball and video games. |

Jim Arnold Sr. Feed & Facility Coordinator
Jim Arnold has been a major contributor to EVS since 1992. Today he works as the Sr. Feed & Facility Coordinator of the Terrell clinic where he oversees feed and hay purchasing as well as facility and equine maintenance. Jim holds both a bachelor and masters degree from Sul Ross University. He is a respected equine photographer specializing in cutting horse action, stallions and auction photography. Samuel Espinoza Facility Coordinator
Samuel Espinoza knows horses well after a lifetime of caring for them. He is a retired Staff Sergeant in the US Army. Samuel is an excellent problem solver and has extensive experience with preventative maintenance and repairing any and everything. Samuel has many talents, yet he is most proud of his wife Kimberly and their two children. |

Piper Alexander Sr. Ranch Assistant-Team Leader
Quinlan Cowgirl Piper Alexander is the EVS Sr. Ranch Assistant - Team Leader. Piper is a graduate of Ford High School and currently attends Texas A&M Commerce where is on the Rodeo Team. She grew up with horses and started off in the English world of jumping and dressage. Today Piper spends her horseback time running barrels. She joined the EVS Team in 2023 and was promoted to Team Leader in 2024. |

Kate Navarro Ranch Assistant
Kate Navarro joined EVS in August of 2024 as a Ranch Assistant. She has an equine background based in her family's race horse business. Kate is a senior at Kaufman High School and plans to start her journey into higher education upon graduation. Her future plans includes becoming an equine veterinarian. |

Gabby Ruffini Sr. Ranch Assistant
Gabby Ruffini is a local cowgirl that loves horses and hard work. She joined the EVS Team in 2023 after graduating from Rockwall-Heath High School. Gabby attended Trinity Valley Community College where she competed on the Rodeo Team. Today she is a proud Red Raider and pre-vet student at Texas Tech. Gabby loves to barrel race and just about everything else to do with horses. |
