Our Mission Statement

Our mission at Equine Veterinary Services is to provide top quality lameness, reproductive and illness care coupled with superior wellness programs for horses in an effort to allow each individual horse to accomplish the competitive goals of their owners and the recreational value we all seek to have a happy, healthy and successful life.


About Us

Equine Veterinary Services (EVS) is a full-service veterinary clinic and breeding facility located in Terrell. Founded as an ambulatory practice in January of 1992 by Dr. Kenton H. Arnold, EVS was originally based in Sunnyvale, Equine Veterinary Services relocated a year later to its current location, a 38-acre picturesque facility located at I-20 and FM 2578 in Terrell, TX.

The entire EVS staff is dedicated to providing high quality, comprehensive medical care for horses in Dallas, Kaufman, Rockwall and Van Zandt Counties. The equine veterinary clinic focuses on performance horse lameness and reproductive issues as well as wellness programs for all breeds.

Kenton H. Arnold, DVM

Dr. Arnold holds degrees from Southwest Texas State University and Texas A&M University as well as a doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. An active member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, he writes for equestrian publications on issues related to the health and well-being of performance and breeding horses. Dr. Arnold has served as a regular columnist for multiple equine publications and was a Founding Board Member for the Texas Horse Park.

Dr. Arnold is an avid cutting horse enthusiast, competing on a regular basis in NCHA, and AQHA competitions. He has been a top ten finisher multiple times in both cutting and pole bending competition at the prestigious AQHA World Show.

Prior to establishing his own private practice, Dr. Arnold was an associate veterinarian with Equiplex Veterinary Hospital in Flower Mound, where he worked with Dr. Bobby Willard.

Dr. Arnold is a founding associate of Animal Imaging, an outpatient imaging facility which provides state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services to veterinarians, located in Irving. Dr. Arnold currently serves on the membership committee of the Texas Equine Veterinary Association, where he is also involved with the organization's Equitarian Outreach Project in Guatemala.


Dr. Jennifer Wickline

Jennifer Wickline, DVM

Dr. Jennifer Wickline first joined Equine Veterinary Services as an Associate Veterinarian in June of 2012 after completing a professional internship with Reata Equine Hospital in Weatherford, TX. She left EVS in December of 2014 and returned to Weatherford working with Dr. Leea Arnold at The Arnold Reproduction Center. In December of 2016, Dr. Wickline returned to EVS as a full-time veterinarian. Today she works as a part-time Associate at the Terrell equine clinic. She has a life&45;time of equine experience as a competitor and owner, and prides herself on being a top equine veterinarian.

Dr. Wickline is a 2007 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University in Biomedical Science. She graduated from the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 with honors. She first became interested in veterinary medicine during a co&45;op class her senior year in high school with Dr. Arnold at Equine Veterinary Services. It was during this time that her interest in breeding, equine medicine and lameness first became evident. Today she utilizes her vast knowledge of horses to practice high-quality medicine with a special flair toward breeding.

Dr. Wickline, her husband Steven Collins and their son Noah live in Wills Point, TX. They enjoy traveling the world together.

Dr. Caroline Zouvi

Caroline Zouvi, DVM

Dr. Zouvi joined the EVS Team in January of 2022. After dreaming of being a veterinarian her entire life, Dr Zouvi set her educational sights on earning her DVM. She earned her undergrad degree from San Diego State University in May of 2017. Dr Zouvi earned her doctorate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St Kitts after completing her clinical year at Oklahoma State University's Boren Veterinary Hospital in 2022.

Dr. Zouvi grew up in California, the child of Brazilian immigrants. She is fluent in Portuguese as well as English. When enjoying time off, Dr. Zouvi relishes the opportunity to camp, fish, scuba dive, and try new restaurants. She can often be found taking on these adventures with her dog Louie whom she adopted while living on St. Kitts during vet school.

Dr. Zouvi is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and the American Veterinary Association. She finds horses, and their owners, to be one of the most interesting groups in the world.

Carroll Brown Arnold

Carroll Brown Arnold has been involved with EVS since its inception and is married to clinic founder Dr. Kenton H. Arnold. An award winning writer, Carroll has been published in multiple travel and equine publications, and is the former publisher of America's Cutter and America's Barrel Racer magazines. Carroll is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and has completed graduate work at the University of North Texas. She works with organizations in the non-profit and equine industries, while overseeing the IT, marketing, social media and branding efforts for the equine clinic. Carroll received her first horse as a 16th birthday gift from her parents and went on to fill the next forty years competing in barrel racing, pole bending and cutting horse competitions. Today she enjoys cutting events with her husband and daughter Austria.

Front Office Team

Regina Calverley

Regina Calverley
Office Coordinator

EVS Front Office Coordinator Regina Calverley oversees the daily functions of the clinic office. Regina joined the clinic in June of 2021 as an Administrative Specialist and was quickly promoted to Team Leader. She is the lead trouble shooter with accounts receivables and administrative procedures here at EVS. Her organizational and mentorship skills make her a solid asset in her role. Regina's extensive customer service experience from the printing and estate sales industries are evident in her work. Her equine experience is limited to being a fan of rodeo and watching her four grandchildren compete in equestrian events - yet she loves the friendly folks in the industry. Regina and her husband Mark have been married for 35-years and enjoy anything they do together.

Austria Arnold
Communications Coordinator

A life-long equine competitor, Austria Arnold is the EVS Communications Coordinator. A graduate of The Hockaday School in Dallas and a magna cum laude presidential scholar graduate of Baylor University. Austria is currently attending Vanderbilt Law School. She has won multiple titles in the cutting pen including the 2014 National Youth Cutting Horse Association World Championship. In 2016 Austria was named to Team USA for the AQHA Youth World Cup in Tamworth, Australia - where she won both competitions and was crowned the 2016 Youth World Cup Cutting Champion. Over the years Austria has been honored with multiple AQHA awards - including youth high point cutter in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017. Most recently Austria's gelding Cat About Houston was named the NCHA 2020 Amateur Horse of the Year. Austria plans to eventually practice law, while continuing her cutting horse obsession.

Cyai Ramirez

Sr. Office Assistant

Cyai Ramirez joined the EVS Team in May of 2022 as an Office Assistant. Cyai graduated with honors from Crandall High School in 2018. She is currently working towards completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She is an alumna of the EVS Internship Program where she elevated her horse handling skills and knowledge of equine medicine. Cyai is incredibly detail oriented and an excellent problem solver, making her a great addition to our Front Office Team. She is passionate about serving others, and previously worked as a volunteer at Jake E's Riding Roundup in Kaufman. Cyai has plans to attend vet school in the future.

Isabel Gregory

Head Vet Tech

Isabel Gregory, a Dallas native and graduate of Southern Methodist University, completed both the EVS Level I and Level II Internships prior to being hired as a Vet Assistant in 2020. A natural with horses, Isabel was promoted to Vet Tech in March of 2021 and today works as a Senior Vet Tech here at EVS. She has a strong equine background as both a competitor and owner, and is a true horsewoman. Isabel is married to Corey Gendron and plans to attend veterinary school in the future.

Reid Finch

Vet Tech

Reid Finch joined the EVS team as a seasonal Vet Tech in 2022. Reid, a student at the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine in Ireland, previously served as a summer Extern at EVS. He is a graduate of Sunnyvale High School and Oklahoma State University. Reid has a strong interest in both equine and bovine medicine. Reid's warm personality makes client interaction a natural fit. In his free time, Reid enjoys fishing and skiing.

Hannah Hamilton

Vet Assistant

Hannah Hamilton is living her dream working with horses at EVS as a Vet Assistant. She has worked hard to develop her equine skills since her family moved to Texas in 2015 and bought horses. Today, Hannah enjoys competing in breakaway roping. Hannah says her favorite part of working at EVS is the great environment where she is always learning and meeting new people.

Shane Smith

Shane Smith
Vet Assistant

M. Shane Smith of Terrell, Texas joined the EVS Team as a Vet Assistant in September of 2022. He has a life-time of equine experience and is a natural at supporting others in the clinic. Shane is excellent with patient care and enjoys interacting with owners. When not supporting the EVS vets in the clinic or on farm calls, Shane can be found helping out with the latest painting project at EVS. In his spare time, he enjoys hanging out with his Australian Shepard Milo, hiking, riding horses and playing the guitar.

Katie Stockum

Katie Stockum
Vet Tech

Katie Stockum began her career with EVS as a summer intern in 2018 and returned in 2019 as a Level 2 Intern. Upon completion of the full EVS internship program, Katie joined the staff of Equine Veterinary Services as a Veterinary Assistant. Today she works as a Seasonal Vet Tech. She is a graduate of Highland Park High School and Texas A&M University. She currently attends Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine. Katie is a true natural with a horse and has superior equine handling skills.

Feed & Facility Department

Jim Arnold

Jim Arnold
Sr. Facility Coordinator

Jim Arnold has been a major contributor to EVS since 1992. Today he works as the Sr. Feed & Facility Coordinator of the Terrell clinic where he oversees feed and hay purchasing and facility maintenance. Jim holds both a bachelors of science degree and masters of science degree in geology from Sul Ross University. He is respected equine photographer specializing in cutting horse action, stallions and auction photography. Jim is webmaster for Equine Veterinary Services. Jim and his wife Teri live in Rowlett, Texas

Grace Bowden

Grace Bowden
Ranch Assistant

Grace Bowden of Terrell joined EVS in September of 2022 as a Ranch Assistant. She is a senior honor student at Wills Point High School where she serves as President of the Wills Point FFA Chapter. Grace is also enrolled in a dual credit program with Stephen F. Austin University where she takes Agricultural courses. This hard working lady is a natural with animals and enjoys showing heifers. Grace is super active in her church where she volunteers in the church nursery when time allows.

Yeymi Haro

Yeymi Haro
Ranch Assistant

Yeymi Haro joined EVS in 2022. She is a natural with horses and enjoys riding as much as possible. Yeymi attends Terrell High School and is an officer in the FFA chapter there. She is active in her church and loves spending time with her family. Yeymi plans to eventually study Veterinary Medicine.

Katie Hilton

Sr. Ranch Assistant

Katie Hilton is a junior at Rockwall-Heath High School and an avid horse lover. She joined EVS in May of 2022 as a Ranch Assistant and quickly put her equine handling skills to work. Katie loves biology and anything animal oriented. She enjoys both jumping and barrel racing as well as the training of young horses. Katie recently completed the TAMU High School Veterinary Enrichment Program for elite students with interest in veterinary careers. Her menagerie of goats, chickens, horses, cats, dogs and reptiles are going to help her be prepared for that future career.

Lauren Rogers

Ranch Assistant

EVS Ranch Assistant Lauren Rogers knows her way around the barn! Lauren joined the clinic in August of 2022. She is a senior at Terrell High School where she is president of her FFA Chapter. Lauren received her Lone Star Degree at the Texas FFA State Convention in the summer of 2021. She is passionate about agriculture and has plans to study Equine Therapy and Rehabilitation after graduation. Lauren is a huge asset to the EVS Team with her attention to details and animal care. This busy lady loves showing zebu cattle and participating in Livestock Judging when time allows.

Kylee Stoltz

Kylee Stoltz
Ranch Assistant

Kylee Stoltz joined EVS in October of 2022 as a Ranch Assistant. She has a life-time of loving, riding and thinking about horses - which she says was fueled by her parents. Kylee plans to attend Farrier School after graduation from Rockwall Heath High School in 2023. She enjoys barrel racing and trail riding in her free time.

Rylie Weaver

Rylie Weaver
Sr. Ranch Assistant

A. Rylie Wheeler joined the EVS Team as a Ranch Assistant in June of 2022. Rylie has a lifetime of equine experience and was exposed to barrel racing and reining during her youth. She is a graduate of Rockwall-Heath High School where she played on the golf team and served as Team Captain during her junior and senior years. Rylie is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Marketing from Tarleton State University. She is interested in a career in veterinary pharmaceutical sales in the future.
